GINGER In
traditional Chinese medicine, ginger is used to expel “cold”, “wind” and
“dampness”, and is believed to stop the reverse flow of Qi (energy). Ginger is
known to have antiemetic, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer capabilities.
TURMERIC: The root and rootstock,
or rhizome, of the plant contain curcumin, which is considered to be the active
ingredient. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong
antioxidant.Curcumin has been found to: inhibit the proliferation of tumor
cells, inhibit the transformation of cells from normal to tumor, and help the
body destroy mutated cancer cells so they cannot spread throughout the body.
GOJI BERRIES: One of the best
benefits of brightly colored berries, like goji berries, is that they contain
high levels of antioxidants and are rich in carotenoids like beta-carotene and
zeaxanthin, which are extremely effective in fighting cancer. When you eat goji
berries, the antioxidants seek out and remove cancer causing free radicals in
the blood.
LEMONS are alkalizing for the body: Lemons are acidic to begin with
but they are alkaline-forming on body fluids helping to restore balance to the
body’s pH. They are rich in vitamin C and flavonoids that work against
infections like the flu and colds. Your liver loves lemons: “The lemon is a
wonderful stimulant to the liver and is a dissolvent of uric acid and other
poisons, liquefies the bile,
Lemons increase peristalsis in the bowels, helping to create a
bowel movement thus eliminating waste and helping with regularity. Add the juice
of one lemon to warm water and drink first thing in the morning. The citric acid
in lemon juice helps to dissolve gallstones, calcium deposits, and kidney
stones.Vitamin C in lemons helps to neutralize free radicals linked to aging
and most types of disease. The lemon peel contains the potent phytonutrient
tangeretin, which has been proven to be effective for brain disorders like
Parkinson’s disease. Two of the nutrients in lemon peel are limonene and
salvestrol Q40 and these two components both fight cancerous cells. In
addition, the flavonoids that can be found in the peel can help counter
cancerous cell division. Because of that, eating lemon peel is considered a
preventive action against several types of cancers such as skin, colon and
breast.
